2019 Speaker Bios G-I

Bradley M. Gallo

Bradley M. Gallo has 20 years of media and entertainment industry experience including film, television, commercials and journalism. Currently he serves as Chief Creative Officer/Partner for Amasia Entertainment. He is currently on set in Ireland producing WILD MOUNTAIN THYME starring Emily Blunt, Jamie Dornan, Jon Hamm and Christopher Walken.  He produced numerous productions, including the 2019 Sundance selection THEM THAT FOLLOW starring Olivia Colman, Kaitlyn Dever, Alice Englert, Jim Gaffigan, Walton Goggins, Thomas Mann and Lewis Pullman; MR. RIGHT starring Sam Rockwell and Anna Kendrick, directed by Paco Cabezas; and THE CALL starring Halle Berry and Abigail Breslin.  Gallo is also producing various other upcoming projects including THE CALL 2, WORLD BREAKER and the adaption of the world famous graphic novel MY FAVORITE THING IS MONSTERS by Emil Ferris with Columbia Pictures

Prior to Amasia Entertainment, Gallo served as the Head of Production and Development of Troika Pictures where he produced films such as THE ROAD WITHIN starring Zoe Kravitz, Dev Patel and Robert Sheehan and CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR starring Nick Jonas.

In 2011 he finished up a fellowship at CNN in New York City where he produced numerous shows including Anderson Cooper and American Morning and was a reporter for CNN.com.   In 2010, Gallo received his Masters Degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism, specializing in broadcast journalism.

Before journalism school, Gallo was a freelance producer in docu-series content.  His producing credits include; Ultimate Fighter on Spike, Bobby G Adventure Capitalist on Mojo, and Under Fire on Court TV. He also produced two national commercials for 1-800- Flowers. At the beginning of his career, Bradley wrote several screenplays, which won numerous awards and even wrote, directed and produced a 35 mm feature film right out of college.  Gallo graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and minor in business.

Gallo is a member of Film Independent and the PGA and has served as Chairman of the Board of the non-profit Cody Foundation helping kids through experiential learning.   He’s an angel investor in technology platforms and recently launched GVNG, an online place to start your own non-profit in less than 5 minutes. Gallo is a native New Yorker of 30 years.  He currently resides in Santa Monica, CA.

Gallo, River

River Gallo

RIVER GALLO [pronouns they/them/their] is a GLAAD award-winning Salvadoran-American filmmaker, actor, writer, model and intersex advocate with interACT. They are a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts Experimental Theatre Wing and the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts MFA program. “Ponyboi,” their USC thesis which they wrote, directed, and acted in, is the first narrative film created by and starring an out intersex person in cinema history. Produced by Stephen Fry and Emma Thompson, Ponyboi premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival. This year River received the ‘Rising Star Award’ at the 2019 GLAAD Media Awards. They were named one of the “Most Exciting Queer People to Follow in 2019” by Out Magazine and made PAPER Magazine’s list of “100 People Taking Over 2019”

Ganes, Joy

Joy Ganes

A New York native and Los Angeles resident, Joy began her creative journey as a Duke Law student, then a USC Peter Stark Producing program alum.  A practicing attorney for over a decade, Joy is a dedicated advocate for emerging and established producers, production entities, directors, writers, financiers and distributors in film, television and other media. She has served as production counsel for independent films, web series and television shows in both New York and Los Angeles (including the Dr. Oz show, American Idol and various Universal Television shows), guiding clients from rights acquisition through distribution for films that have shown at Sundance and been featured on HBO.  In 2018, Joy produced Premature in Harlem, NY which premiered at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival and will be distributed by IFC in early 2020 and Forbidden Steps in Queens, NY which has just begun its festival journey.  Joy also produces for television and film as the President of Tracy Yvonne Productions.

Jack Gao

Dr. Gao is Founding Partner and CEO of “Smart Cinema”, a direct-to-consumer mobile platform devoting to exhibit theatrically released movies. During 2015-2017, Dr. Gao was CEO of International Investments and Operations, Wanda Cultural Industry Group and also Interim CEO of Legendary Entertainment in Hollywood during 2017. Previously, Dr. Gao was Senior Vice President for News Corporation and Twenty-First Century Fox, Inc. (2006~2014) and CEO, NWS China Investments as well as CEO, Star TV China Co. Earlier, Dr. Gao was President of Microsoft China, General Partner of Walden International and Corporate Vice President and President of Emerging Geographies for Autodesk Inc.

Aaron L. Gilbert

Aaron L. Gilbert is the Chairman and CEO of BRON, a company he co-founded with wife Brenda Gilbert in 2010. The parent company BRON Media Corp., has divisions which include BRON Studios, BRON Creative, BRON Animation, BRON Ventures, BRON Releasing, and BRON Life. Gilbert, a former music industry and finance executive, has produced or executive produced more than 90 productions, with some of the industry’s most elite filmmakers and creators. His roster of acclaimed releases include Todd Phillips’ record breaking JOKER, Academy Award® Best Picture nominee FENCES from director Denzel Washington, as well as Clint Eastwood’s THE MULE, Debra Granik’s LEAVE NO TRACE, Jason Reitman’s THE FRONT RUNNER and TULLY, and the Rebel Wilson comedy ISN’T IN ROMANTIC. Recently wrapped productions include Barry Levinson’s HARRY HAFT, starring Ben Foster; and Taylor Sheridan’s THOSE WHO WISH ME DEAD, starring Angelina Jolie. Upcoming releases include Lena Thwaite’s QUEEN & SLIM, starring Daniel Kaluuya; David Lowery’s GREEN KNIGHT, starring Dev Patel; and a third collaboration with Jason Reitman on GHOSTBUSTERS 2020. Gilbert oversees the BRON group of companies while still playing an active role on the ground of many of the company’s productions. He is a member of the Canadian Academy, the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences and the Producers Guild of America.

Gilbride, Megan

Megan Gilbride

Megan Gilbride is a two-time-Emmy-winning and Independent Spirit Award nominated producer of narrative and documentary films. She produced the Emmy award winning TOWER which screened on PBS’s Independent Lens, was nominated for numerous prizes including a Peabody, PGA and Gotham Award and was shortlisted for the Best Documentary Academy Award. Other titles include Lovers of Hate, Where Soldiers Come From, and Habibi. Megan is currently developing the feature documentary Fathom and producing Dear Mr. Brody with Impact Partners and Topic. She is a member of the Producers Guild of America, the Documentary Producers Alliance, and a former Film Independent Fellow.

Goldworm, Adam

Adam Goldworm

Adam Goldworm is the founder of boutique management/production company Aperture Entertainment. The company represents many sought after writers and directors and is actively producing several features and television series.

Aperture produced the critically acclaimed film MY FRIEND DAHMER – the haunting, sad, funny, true origin story of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer in high school, starring Ross Lynch (SABRINA), Anne Heche and Alex Wolff (HEREDITARY).  Aperture also produced the Grady Hendrix Fangoria horror comedy SATANIC PANIC starring Rebecca Romijn & Jerry O’Connell and directed by Chelsea Stardust. Goldworm also produced supernatural actioner THE LAST WITCH HUNTER at Lionsgate starring Vin Diesel and Michael Caine.

Goldworm exec produced the Aaron Eckhart actioner LINE OF DUTY (which premieres this Friday) and The Nichols Finalist BEST SELLERS (which stars Michael Caine and Aubrey Plaza and started production earlier this week).  He is also Exec producing the WWII true story BLESSED EVENT at Paramount.

Currently, Goldworm is developing a religious themed horror film called ELIJAH at Fox Searchlight with David Goyer and the science fiction horror film THE OBERLIN INCIDENT at Paramount. Goldworm is also producing Ezra Claytan Daniels’ award winning graphic novel UPGRADE SOUL and the Vince McMahon biopic PANDEMONIUM with John Requa and Glenn Ficarra directing at Tristar.

Goldworm produced the critically acclaimed and twisted play TASTE, written by his client Benjamin Brand based on the true story of Armin Meiwes, aka the Rotenburg Cannibal, who achieved international notoriety for killing and eating a voluntary victim whom he had found via the Internet. The play premiered in Los Angeles in 2014 and won four StageRaw awards and was nominated for two LA Drama Critics Circle Awards. The show opened in Chicago in 2016 and our lead actor won the Jeff award for best actor.

Goldworm spent five years at Industry Entertainment as the EVP, Television where he produced Showtime’s Emmy Award Winning MASTERS OF HORROR and NBC’s FEAR ITSELF collaborating with directors including John Carpenter, Tobe Hooper, Brad Anderson, John Landis and Takashi Miike.

He has an MBA from UC Berkeley and was part of the Hollywood Reporter’s Next Gen way back in 2008. Goldworm’s first paid job in the entertainment industry was writing obituaries for Variety.

Goldworm has no plans to change his name.

Mark Gooder

Mark Gooder is a NZ native who began his film career in Australia and New Zealand over 20 years ago. He established Icon Distribution in Sydney in 2000 for Academy-Award winning Producer/Director and Actor Mel Gibson and his producing partner Bruce Davey. In 2006 he re-located to Los Angeles to oversee the Icon group of companies including an international sales arm, UK and Australian distribution and the Icon Productions banner. In 2012 he became the President of Acquisitions for The Weinstein Company. In 2015 he established international sales company Cornerstone Films with business partner and former Focus Feature’s International President, Alison Thompson. The company is located in Santa Monica and London. Cornerstone works with Producers to help finance and and sell films to the domestic and international marketplace. The company has also expanded to focus on TV series development with its German partner, X Filme who produced and financed the most expensive German TV series BABYLON BERLIN now on Netflix.

Mark has built a reputation as a film executive with impeccable taste and strong commercial foresight. His acquisitions for the US, UK and Australasian marketplace have included some of the most successful and acclaimed independent films of all-time including SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE, 12 YEARS A SLAVE, BEND IT LIKE BECKHAM, THE QUEEN, AMELIE, THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, PARANORMAL ACTIVITY, PHILOMENA, ONCE, LA VIE EN ROSE and THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST.

Cornerstone Films titles include the Academy Award winning documentary, AMY; the 2019 Sundance Film Festival opening night film, AFTER THE WEDDING starring Julianne Moore and Michele Williams and Gurinder Chadha’s comedy BLINDED BY THE LIGHT to be released through Warner/New Line in August 2019.

Jeffrey Greenstein

Jeffrey Greenstein, eight-year company vet of Millennium, has risen through the studio ranks becoming President of the indie studio and President of International Sales & Distribution prior in April 2015, where he also produces.

Overseeing sales and distribution of all the company’s productions he’s handled over 50 films for the indie studio that have grossed upwards of $1.75 Billion in worldwide box office, including the Expendables franchise, the ‘Has Fallen’ franchise, the Mechanic franchise and the recent #1 box office hit, The Hitman’s Bodyguard.

Greenstein is a graduate of the University of Central Florida – College of Business Administration, where he majored marketing with a concentration in sales.

Prior to entering the film business, he worked as an Assistant Trainer for the Anthony Robbins Foundation, owned and published a professional development magazine for young professionals, and owned and operated a commercial carpet cleaning company he started at the age of 19.

Rick Hack

Rick Hack, Head of Media & Entertainment Partnerships, at Intel Corp.: He has an 18 year history in the media, entertainment and technology space. In his latest role, Rick was hired to operate as Intel’s liaison to U.S. M & E companies pursuing transformational tech-based partnerships and strategic relationships.  He’s responsible for engaging industry leaders, influencers, technical decision makers, and policy makers to ultimately drive awareness and early adoption of new Intel technologies, platforms and products. Since then, Rick has helped propel several unique opportunities including partnerships with Warner Bros. envisioning entertainment experiences in the future inside autonomous vehicles and Ai creature simulations, and exploring immersive media with Paramount Pictures and the newly created Intel volumetric capture studio in Los Angeles with the property Grease. Most recently, his collaborative virtual reality project with Universal Pictures First Man VR was nominated for an EMMY.  Before Intel, Rick also operated as a Consultant and VP for several digital startups. In this capacity, he launched a social media, fan advocacy platform for top rated FOX TV series ‘Glee’, theatrical releases with Sony Pictures for Mortal Instruments and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 including the official ‘Spidey Fan’ program. In addition, Rick was Head of Content Strategy for Michael Bay’s commercial and transmedia company – The Institute where he assisted in the re-boot branding of the ‘Need for Speed’ video game franchise with launch elements across Facebook and other platforms. Earlier in his career he was Head of Entertainment for CBS’s Radio division and invented several noteworthy projects including ‘Traffic on Demand’ with the first U.S. texted based traffic service to consumers. He also led a fully digital branded radio station with ABC and their series ‘Life on Mars’, and a very early OTT project – ‘Live from the Web Carpet’ covering blockbuster film releases. Before he ventured in the business side of entertainment, Rick fronted several rock bands opening for artists including Haim, Big Country, Tonic, Marcie Playground and Cowboy Mouth where his music has been placed in film releases.

Hadity, John

John Hadity

John Hadity is the Executive Vice President of EP Financial Solutions, the film financing subsidiary of Entertainment Partners, the global leader in entertainment payroll, residuals, extras casting, tax incentives, finance and other integrated production management solutions.  Mr. Hadity specializes in the monetization of tax credits and Minimum Guarantees.

With over 20 years of studio experience, Mr. Hadity previously served as the Executive Vice President of Motion Picture & Television Production Finance for Miramax Films.  During his 12 year tenure with the company he was responsible for a portfolio of production budgets valued in excess of $4 Billion.

Mr. Hadity is a former Chair of the Producers Guild of America East, and has served on the National Board of Directors.  He has served on the MPAA’s Worldwide Production and International Tax Committees, and has extensive experience working with governments on the local, provincial and national levels to incentivize production in those areas.  He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Film Finance at Columbia University and is a graduate of Hamilton College.  His board Service includes Hamilton College, IFP, and Tectonic Theater Project.

Harden, Mark

Mark Harden

Mark Harden has been training animals in film for over 40 years. He left university at 19 to follow his dream of becoming a dolphin trainer. That dream was derailed after a brief time at Moorpark College, a Southern Californian school offering a degree in Exotic Animal Training and Management. A trainer from the internationally renowned movie animal training company, Animal Actors of Hollywood, recruited Mark after watching him working with one of the college’s sea lions. In 1979 he left college again, this time to follow a new dream and embark upon a career he never knew existed.

For the next 20 years, he trained animals and coordinated animal action for countless movies and TV shows. Some notable titles are Never Cry Wolf, Something Wicked This Way Comes, Manimal, Monkey Trouble, The Golden Seal, Bring ’em Back Alive, Bram Stoker’s Dracula, A Peaceable Kingdom, The Dark Half, A Little Princess, and Men in Black.

In 1998 he shifted gears and started concentrating on small exotic and domestic animals. He became the senior animal trainer at Animals for Hollywood, where he continues working today. Here, Mark has had the honor of creating such memorable movie animal characters as Paulie, Tony Shalhoub’s sidekick in DreamWorks’ Paulie, Snowbell from the Stuart Little films, Catwoman’s Midnight, Hachiko, the eponymous star of Richard Gere’s Hachi; A Dog’s Story, Crispin Glover’s nemesis, Ben, in the remake of the ‘70s horror classic Willard, the iconic Jack, the Monkey from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, and many more.Over four decades in this dynamic industry, Mark has remained interested and relevant by eagerly merging his old-school work ethic and extensive experience with the technology of today’s filmmakers.
Willma Harvey

Willma Harvey

Willma Harvey began her career in tourism at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention and Visitors Bureau. Her initial sales position was Convention Services Manager, in which she supervised twelve registration assistants and ensured that delegates attending meetings and conventions received exceptional “southern hospitality” and customer service when meeting on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. In the role of Convention Services Manager, Harvey also promoted the Mississippi Gulf Coast as a prime meeting destination. Her first major booking was the Marine Technology Society IEEE Oceans 2002 Conference, a gathering that generated approximately 2500 room nights and used the entire meeting and exhibit space at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum and Convention Center.

Harvey has extensive experience in tourism leisure sales. As Manager, Tourism Marketing at the Mississippi Gulf Coast Convention & Visitors Bureau, Harvey specialized in group tour and travel sales and promoted the destination to domestic and international tour operators. She played a major role in securing the 2002 National Tour Association Spring Meet and the 2002 Bank Travel Annual Conference in Biloxi, Mississippi, and she coordinated the Mississippi, Alabama, and Louisiana coastal familiarization tours for both meetings. Harvey also organized and coordinated the final three American Bus Association Coach Classics, national contests that recognized and awarded some of the best motorcoach drivers and mechanics in the United States and Canada.

Harvey’s experience also includes Ecotourism, Meetings Sales, and Sports Tourism. While employed at the Corpus Christi Convention and Visitors Bureau as the Ecotourism Sales Manager, she was instrumental in promoting the Texas Coastal Bend region as a major nature tourism destination. She coordinated the 2006 Great Texas Birding Classic and booked prominent meetings affiliated with nature tourism, including the American Birding Association Annual Convention. When promoted to Senior Sales Manager, Harvey was successful with booking numerous prominent national, regional, and state association meetings and conventions. Harvey secured and serviced the 2016 Hobie Fishing World Championship in Leeville, Louisiana, when she was the Tourism Sales Manager at Louisiana’s Cajun Bayou Tourism.

In her present role as the Director of Sales and Business Development at the River Parishes Tourist Commission, Harvey’s responsibilities include showcasing and promoting the St. John Community Center as a prime facility for producing movies. She has presented the center to several movie production agencies, including NCIS and Snoot Entertainment, the agency that will utilize the Center to film the movie, ONE NIGHT IN MIAMI.

Harvey presently serves on the National Tour Association’s Tour Supplier Network Advisory Committee and the American Bus Association’s Marketplace Advisory Subcommittee. She formerly served on the Texas Society of Association Executives’ Leadership Committee and was a board member on the Texas Tropical Trail Region. She is a Certified Tour Professional (CTP), a Certified Travel Industry Specialist (CTIS), and a Certified Travel Ambassador (CTA).

A graduate of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, Texas, Harvey earned a Master of Arts degree in English.

Paul Hertzberg

Paul Hertzberg

Paul Hertzberg is the President and Chief Executive Officer of CineTel Films, Inc. Under his auspices and direct involvement since its founding thirty eight years ago, CineTel has become one of the leading independent production and distribution companies in the entertainment industry. In addition to theatrical features, the firm has been highly successful in the production of pay television specials for HBO, Lifetime and the SyFy Channel. New Line, Warner Bros., Lions Gate, MGM and Anchor Bay have distributed much of the CineTel product, 20 of which have been released theatrically.

“We’ve now begun our thirty eighth year,” says Mr. Hertzberg, “and it’s been an exciting, tremendously rewarding experience for all of us. In November of 2003 we sold our 100 film library and since then we have produced and distributed 150 films. We have worked with some of the top talent in Hollywood including Will Smith, Sharon Stone, Ray Liotta, Robert Downey Jr, Vanessa Redgrave, Dolph Lundgren, Dennis Hopper, and Nicolas Cage.”

Mr. Hertzberg is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences-Producers Division (AMPAS), and served as a two term Chairman of the Independent Film and Television Alliance (IFTA).

Laura Hertzfeld

Laura Hertzfeld is an Emmy-winning producer, writer, and editor with over a decade of experience helping news organizations develop online content, engagement and distribution strategies. She leads the newly launched Yahoo News XR Partner Program. Laura was a 2018-2019 John S. Knight Journalism Fellow at Stanford University where she researched the intersection of art, immersive storytelling, and journalism. She previously led Journalism 360, an immersive storytelling initiative from Google News Lab, Knight Foundation, and ONA. She has held leadership roles at Entertainment Weekly, Ora TV, and PBS.org and was an editor on the original Yahoo News team.

Ashley Irwin

Ashley Irwin

Emmy® award-winner, ASHLEY IRWIN, has scored over 30 feature films, 300 hours of television and over 3,000 commercials. He relocated from his native Australia to the U.S.A. in 1990 after a successful career in theatre, records, advertising and television.

He began his endless quest to understand the complexities of music licensing and associated contracts, as the in-house producer and A&R manager for an independent record label in Sydney, started his first publishing company in 1989 and currently maintains publishing entities at ASCAP, BMI and APRA.

In 1998 he was awarded Best Feature Film Score by the Australian Guild of Screen Composers for his score to the restored silent classic The White Hell of Piz Palü and the following year commissioned by the British Film Archives to write a new score to Alfred Hitchcock’s silent classic The Lodger, in honor of the great director’s 100th anniversary. Both these films continue to be performed in film-live concerts throughout the world.

In 2006, Ashley received a G.A.N.G. award for EA’s The Godfather video game.

Well-known for his collaborations with Oscar® winners Clint Eastwood and Bill Conti, Ashley has arranged and composed music for 21 Academy Awards shows (including the most recent), several Emmys® and Grammys®, as well a slew of other TV variety shows. He was Musical Director for the inaugural Screen Actors Guild Awards and for the American Giving Awards, both for NBC.

In 2015 Ashley recreated the songs of Peter Allen for the mini-series Peter Allen: Not the Boy Next Door and was nominated for both AACTA and APRA awards.

He is an official APRA-AMCOS Ambassador and has been President of the Society of Composers & Lyricists for the past 6 years where he is currently in his 3rd 2-year term.

Itier, Emmanuel

Emmanuel Itier

An experienced feature film Producer, Emmanuel Itier directed several pictures before completing in 2012 the Peace documentary ‘The Invocation’ narrated by Sharon Stone and staring Desmond Tutu, HH The Dalai Lama, Deepak Chopra as well as many worldwide peace activists. In 2013 Mr. Itier executive-produced a Drama filmed in Hong Kong: ‘Red Passage’ which won many Awards in the Festival circuit. Itier has been a buyer for many French and American Film distribution companies for the last twenty five years. He was on the board of directors of the Santa Barbara Film Festival for a decade. He is also very involved with charities and the political world. Mr. Itier seats on the board of Directors of ‘Darfur Women Action Group’ in an attempt to bring Peace to Darfur. He is also the  founding President of the Rotary E-Club of World Peace ( www.RotaryEclubofWorldPeace.org ) and he is part of the U.N Association, Santa Barbara chapter.

Emmanuel Itier released in 2014 another inspiring documentary Celebrating Women around the planet: ‘FEMME-Women healing the World.’ This Documentary earned over 20 Awards around the World.  Late 2017 Mr. Itier completed his third feature Documentary: ‘Shamanic Trekker’, about shamanism in Peru. Mr. Itier has just released two more documentaries in order to keep “Making Peace, One movie at a time.”

In 2019 he completed ‘The Cure: Healing The Mind, Healing The Body, Healing the Planet’  and the politically loaded Doc: ‘We The People: A Re-Evolution of Economics and Politics’, which is sure to shake the system!

Finally Mr. Itier is a recipient of the ‘2018 Global Citizen Award’ from the prestigious United Nation Association and he was named President of The Year 2018 by the Rotary E-Club of  World Peace.
