As the voice and advocate for the independents, IFTA speaks out on matters of critical importance and actively lobbies governments around the world in regard to measures directly affecting the industry, including media consolidation, trade barriers, net neutrality, the impact of new technology on traditional business models, piracy and the need for strong legal frameworks for copyright protection. IFTA also delivers a wide array of services that assist independents to compete effectively in today’s marketplace. Among those services is working toward clear industry standards for licensing, and IFTA’s frequently updated model licensing agreements are in standard use around the world.
