Private Seminars, Hosted Receptions, Discounted Credentials
LOS ANGELES (September 21, 2015) – The 2015 American Film Market, November 4-11, has today announced a new series of programs for film festival professionals attending AFM. Festival professionals will benefit from private seminars, invitations to hosted receptions, and discounts on most AFM credentials. All who work in a leadership role at a festival will be eligible, including Festival Directors, Artistic Directors, Creative Directors, Curators, Executive Directors, Festival Producers and Programmers.
At the AFM Festival Focus presented by FilmFreeway, festival leaders will share their experiences and advice in a “by festivals, for festivals” atmosphere. The sessions will explore and convey operational and curatorial knowledge and best practices in an intimate setting. Speakers include Carl Spence, Artistic Director, Seattle International Film Festival, Mark Adams, Artistic Director, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Mitch Davis, Co-Festival Director & Co-Director of International Programming, Fantasia International Film Festival and Ted Crockett, Executive Director, Nashville Film Festival.
Festival professionals will have the opportunity to network with their peers at a private reception hosted by AFM. Later during the market they will connect with 400+ producers at a ‘Meet the Festivals’ edition of the recently-announced Carousel Cocktails on the historic Santa Monica Pier.
AFM Managing Director Jonathan Wolf said: “AFM is the largest gathering of industry professionals in North America. With more than 1,000 production companies, 400 distributors and 700 screenings, AFM is the perfect venue for festivals to connect with the industry.”
Recognizing the non-profit status of most festivals, participants will receive a discount of nearly 40% on their AFM credential.
