It is the policy of AFM that barriers of any type should not exclude people from attending or participating. For assistance in accessing the services and facilities of AFM, please review the information below. Registration of Personal Aide/Companion

Should you require an aide or personal assistant to help navigate the AFM, AFM will provide your aide with a complimentary badge with the same access as yours. Please contact AFMaccessibility@IFTA-online.org to register your personal aide at least one week before arrival. (Name and full contact info are required.)

MOBILITY CONSTRAINTS

AFM events are spread out and distances can be considerable. If you are a regular wheelchair user you should bring your chair with you.

TRANSPORTATION

Shuttle Service

Shuttle service is available between the AFM headquarters (Exhibitor offices), theatres and many local hotels.

Accessible Transportation

Wheelchair accessible van transportation can also be scheduled between the AFM headquarters (Exhibitor offices), theatres and local hotels in the AFM block. The van will only be available for pick-up and drop-off at existing AFM Shuttle stops. If you will need accessible van transportation, please inform us at least two weeks in advance so we can arrange for the van and driver. Send your request to AFMaccessibility@IFTA-online.org. During the AFM, the Transportation Coordinator will require 15 minutes advance notice of when and where you will need each pick up.

HEARING IMPAIRMENT

Sign Language Interpreters

Attendees can request a sign language interpreter. Please email AFMaccessibility@IFTA-online.org with your request, including your full schedule, at least four weeks in advance. Interpreters are in high demand and their schedules fill up quickly so we cannot guarantee their availability.

Sign language interpreters are available for AFM sponsored events only. Interpreters for private events – parties, meals, etc. – are the responsibility of the participant.

Registration of Personal Interpreter

If you would like to bring an aide who can serve as your personal interpreter, AFM will provide your interpreter with a complimentary badge with the same access as yours. Please contact AFMaccessibility@IFTA-online.org to register your personal aide at least one week before arrival. (Name and full contact info are required.)

Onsite Resources

A TDD phone can be placed in a convenient location at the AFM headquarters. Please provide at least one week advance notice for the TDD phone.

Assistive Listening Devices

Assistive Listening Devices (ALD) involve the installation of transmitters at the conferences & panels. Sound is transmitted to headphones provided to the attendee. A limited number of ALDs will be available and there is no charge for their use. Requests must be received at least two weeks in advance so equipment can be sourced and installed. Please email AFMaccessibility@IFTA-online.org with your request.

AFM does not provide connections to session sound boards.

HOUSING

All AFM hotels have ADA designated hotel rooms set aside for AFM participants. Make your hotel reservations as early as possible as there are a limited number of accessible rooms available at each property. Contact Hotels@IFTA-online.org to make a reservation.

OTHER ACCESSIBILITY NEEDS

If you are an individual with special assistance and/or accessibility needs that are not specified above, please contact AFMaccessibility@IFTA-online.org. for more information. Requests should be submitted, if possible, at least four weeks in advance.
